Q: What is your pricing?
A: An updated pricing guide will be released imminently!
Q: What is your average shoot time/ pre-production time frame, or in other words: how long does it take to get everything together before our shoot date?
A: During a photo shoot, on average, it takes about 30min-1hr/location. So for example, say you want a two location shoot senior portrait session we will be shooting for roughly 1hr-2hrs including travel times. I will say the longer I've done this the faster I've gotten so with these estimates I still like to allow for wiggle room and would rather slightly overestimate than underestimate!
As for pre-production time (the time of your inquiry to your session) that time is somewhat more unpredictable as it really depends on how big your vision is and how much lead time we have before a session. Since I'm not a full-time photographer, it typically takes 1-2 weeks to get our pre-production materials set (any outfit guides, location guides, and other meetings to iron out the vision!).
Q: What should I expect by hiring you?
A: A broad question but a reasonable one to ask! After someone contacts me, we sort out what their vision is and I start putting together what they want with the resources I have. So be that a specific location they have in mind, or specific style of shoot. I work as quickly as possible and strive to be as accessible as possible to my clients with any concerns, questions, or inquiries. With every session I hope to capture your authentic self with my mixture of classic portraiture and documentary style.
Q: How long does it take to edit the photos, or when can I expect my final images?
A: It usually takes me about 2-3 weeks to finish out a session fully. Within a week of the session I will have a sample of sneak peaks for your eyes to share your beautiful photos while also taking any notes one editing tweaks you'd like to see in the main gallery.
Q: Do you take tips, or what is tipping etiquette for a photographer?
A: Great question! Yes, I do take and very much appreciate any tips! I try to go above and beyond for my customers and I really appreciate any gratuity they wish to give me!
Q: What is your availability?
A: My availability at the moment depends on where my client is coming from and whether they are looking for a weekday shoot or weekend shoot. I do work full time at Panavision in Dallas - so flexibility for clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is much easier than other areas - but I'm always willing to make something work. I do want to preface that a traveling fee may be applicable for specific situations. If you ever have a question about my availability please fill out an inquiry form under my contact page so I can help you further! You can also access that form from here!
Q: What kinds of photos/sessions do you take?
A: I have a background in most areas of photography, but my strongest areas are classic portraiture and documentary photography which have combined into a cohesive style that you can expect to see across all session types. Typical sessions/photos I partake in are: senior portraits, family photos, couples/engagement/wedding photography, event, documentary and commercial photography. If you're interested in knowing if I offer the kind of session you have in mind - please fill out an inquiry form under my contact page so I can help you further! You can also access that form from here!
Q: What do you do if we don't have any location ideas, or specific spots in mind?
A: Depending on what you want, I create a location guide with pictures and descriptions of each location that I think would be suitable for your vision. I also do go out and scout my locations throughout the year so I know what is most in season, and will scout new locations upon request. On top of that, by choosing me my clients get access to locations that are unique to me and won't be seen in other photographers work.
Q: Do you have any suggestions for outfits for my shoot?
A: Yes! On every step of the process I am always ready to offer my advice if needed. With regards to outfits I make outfit guides for my clients as well as what to accessorize their looks with if they don't have any ideas beforehand! I also have a growing "client closet" of clothing I've thrifted and used for past editorial shoots that is available to my clients upon request!
Q: Do you shoot film photos for clients during a session?
A: I have a strong background and knowledge of film photography in both 35mm and 120mm. I am absolutely willing to shoot in film, but the client should be prepared to cover the costs of the film stock and processing. If you wish to have me shoot film please send me an inquiry form and I can give you specific quote for what those added costs would look like!
